TUCSON, Ariz. — The University of Arizona Women's Basketball program has signed transfer Anastasiia Semenova, head coach Becky Burke announced.
Semenova, a 6-foot forward, arrives in Tucson following a strong career at Boston University, where she served as a two-time team captain and developed into one of the Terriers' most efficient post players.
As a senior in 2025-26, Semenova appeared in 28 games with 19 starts, averaging a career-best 9.0 points and 5.4 rebounds per game while shooting 49.8 percent from the field. She also totaled 19 blocks and led the team with an .846 free throw percentage.
She returned to action after a 596-day absence due to injury and quickly made an impact, highlighted by a career-tying 21-point performance at Bucknell. She recorded multiple double-figure scoring efforts, including a four-game stretch, and capped her season with a double-double of 12 points and 10 rebounds in a win over American.
Semenova missed the 2024-25 season due to injury but in 2023-24 appeared in 28 games with 18 starts while averaging 8.0 points per game. She posted multiple standout performances, including a 21-point outing against Lafayette and her first collegiate double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds versus Loyola Maryland.
As a freshman, she appeared in 22 games off the bench, gaining valuable experience in the rotation.
Prior to her collegiate career, Semenova competed internationally as a member of the Russian U18 National Team pool and played for Spartak Saint Petersburg in the Russian Women's Superleague Division I. She earned multiple medals at the national level and was an All-Star selection and European Girls Basketball League champion at the U16 level.
"I chose Arizona because of the coaching staff and the high standards that this program represents," Semenova said. "I believe it will help me grow both as a player and as a person while working towards shared success and building something special with the team."
