Wildcats Fall to Colorado in Boulder

Box Score

Junior Candice Warthen scored 12 points to lead the Wildcats, but Arizona (4-14, 0-7) women's basketball fell to Colorado (12-6, 2-5), 68-47, on Friday night in Boulder, Colo.

The game marked Warthen's 11th game scoring in double-digits this season.

Senior Carissa Crutchfield had eight points, five assists and four steals for Arizona, her 10th game with four or more assists this season.

Freshman Breanna Workman grabbed eight rebounds to lead the Wildcats.

In the first half, both teams shot 33 percent, but Arizona held a 23-17 rebounding advantage.

“We rebounded the ball better, coming up with 13 offensive rebounds,” Arizona Head Coach Niya Butts said. “We out-rebounded them for a long time, but it just came down to us turning the ball over too much. We gave the ball right back to them.”

The Buffaloes shot 71 percent in the second half and committed only 15 turnovers to UA's 20 to seal the win.

Junior Jen Reese led Colorado with 22 points and seven rebounds.

The Wildcats will continue their road trip to take on Utah on Sunday, Jan. 26 at 3 p.m. in Salt Lake City, Utah.
