TUCSON, Ariz.- The men's tennis team was in action today for this first time this fall season. The Wildcat's competed at the George R. Brown Tennis Complex at Rice University in Houston, Texas, and are competing there throughout the weekend.

Jason Jaruvang, a transfer from IUPUI, saw his first action with the Cats today defeating Pablo Colvee, 6-0 and 6-2, in his first match in the tournament. Jaruvang's next match will take place tomorrow with the time to be determined.

Freshman David Meshayev, junior Naoki Takeda, and Carlos Bermudez were unable to advance in the winner's bracket after the first day. Meshayev fell 6-0 and 6-2 and will return to the court tomorrow at 11 a.m. Takeda will also hit the court tomorrow at 11 a.m. after three hard-fought sets on Friday. Bermudez, who fell in straight sets, will look for his first win of the season at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
