PISMO BEACH, Calif. - Top-seeded Madi Kingdon and Kaitlyn Leary won three matches to take home the title at the Cal Poly Pairs Tournament on Sunday. The duo defeated Madison and McKenna Witt in the championship in three sets (21-17, 17-21, 18-16).
Three of the four teams in the final four were Wildcat pairs Kingdon and Leary defeated Emily Kiser and Olivia Macdonald (21-10, 21-13) to reach the championship. Meanwhile, the Witt twins took down the Cal Poly pair of Nelson/Greisen (21-10, 19-21, 15-5) to advance.
Taylor Arizobal/Allie Cook and Hailey Devlin/Sarah Seiber advanced to the second round of the tournament.
Arizona is back in action on Tuesday when it takes on Irvine Valley College and Concordia University in Irvine beginning at 1 p.m. PDT.
