AUSTIN, Texas – Arizona diving wrapped up day two of the Texas Diving Invitational with two divers making it to the finals, one of which landed in the top three.
Senior
Karolyn Loftus was the highlight of the day for the women after taking third in the 1-meter with a score of 292.50. Earlier in the day, Loftus finished fourth in the prelims 283.20. Senior
Sally Hackett also made the finals of the 1-meter. Hackett placed fifth in both the final (286.50) and prelims (282.35). Both seniors set season-highs in the event.
In the prelims of the 1-meter, juniors
Kaitlin Costello and
Haley Blount finished in tenth-place (241.05) and 18th-place (210.95), respectively. Blount set her second season-high of the invitational.
For the men, freshman
Casey Ponton just missed the 3-meter finals after placing tenth in the prelims with a season-high score of 305.65, almost 50 points higher than his last high score.
Up Next: Arizona concludes the Texas Diving Invitational on Saturday starting at 9 a.m. MST with the women's platform. Both the men and women will be competing in the platform, which will be finals only.
