Freshman Kennedy Lohman, a decorated swimmer in high school, has continued her success to Arizona. Lohman has notched an NCAA cut in every event she has swam in this season and has already left her mark, helping her 200 medley relay team set a new school record in a time trial at the Texas Invitational.
 
The swimmer has had notable first-place finishes in the 100 breast multiple times this season, including in the prelims at the Texas Invitational and against No. 6 California and No. 19 UCLA.
 
The Kentucky native is a four-time Kentucky State Champion in the 200 medley relay, also setting region and state records. She holds the National Independent High School record in that race in addition to the school record in the 100 breast. Lohman was named a Scholastic All-American her senior year.
 
At Sacred Heart Academy, Lohman was the team's MVP all four years. She landed on the All-Region, All-State, and All-America teams each of her four years, and was named All-Region MVP for one of those seasons.
 
Since swimming at Arizona, Lohman has grown as a swimmer and as a teammate. "I have learned a lot about being a teammate," she said. "Training and competing with this team has made me realize how much more fun and meaningful it is to race for other people."
 
ArizonaWildcats.com sat down with Lohman to discuss her favorite swim memories, artists, candy, and more.
 
Describe Your Top-Four Swim Memories
1. Breaking the school record in the 200 medley relay with Taylor Garcia, Annie Ochitwa and Katrina Konopka.
 
Lohman, along with Taylor Garcia, Annie Ochitwa, and Katrina Konopka earned an NCAA 'A' cut as well as setting a new Arizona school record in the 200 medley relay with 1:34.63.
 
2. Going to Junior World Championships in 2015 where I met my current teammate, freshman Hannah Cox.
 
Lohman placed fourth in the 50m breast with a time of 31.78.
 
3. Winning Junior Nationals in 2015 and breaking the Junior National record in the 400 medley relay with my former teammates, Asia Seidt (University of Kentucky), Brooke Forde (Stanford), and Brooke Bauer (UNC).
 
With a time of 3:36.61, Lohman and her former teammates won the 4x100 relay and broke the Junior National record.
 
4. Winning four straight Kentucky high school state championships at Sacred Heart Academy in Louisville.
 
In 2014, Lohman set the state record in the 100 breast, swimming 1:01.29. She also set the state record in the 200 medley relay (1:40.74) and the 200 free relay (1:34.46) in 2015.

1. Medley Relays (200 and 400): I love swimming for my team and competing with three other girls.
2. 100 Breaststroke: it's my best event.
3. 200 Breaststroke: it requires a racing strategy which is fun to play around with.
4. 200 IM: it's all of the strokes in one race.

3. Dixie Chicks: I grew up listening to them with my mom.
