AUSTIN, Texas – Cats add more all-time top-ten performances tonight on the third night of the Texas Invitational.
Nick Thorne won the 400 IM and is now the runner-up for the school record with 3:41.47.
Mackenzie Rumrill now holds the seventh-fastest school record holder in the 100 fly with 51.96.
Daniela Georges (4:10.64) and
Mallory Korenwinder (1:00.54) are now ninth all-time in Arizona school history in the 400 IM and 100 breast, respectively.
Georges finished third in the 400 IM (4:10.64) earning an NCAA B cut, and tied-for-ninth in Arizona's school history.
Hannah Cox (4:11.86) and
Jenna Bauer (4:13.85) also earned NCAA B cuts.
Thorne won the 400 IM with 3:41.47, beating his own personal record and moving up second all-time in school history for the Wildcats. Thorne, as well as
Brooks Fail (3:47.55),
Sam Iida (3:48.63),
Steven Medvedev (3:49.58), and
Isaac Stump (3:50.21) earned NCAA B cuts.
Rumrill placed third in the A final of the 100 fly with 51.96 and Sam Getzen finished second in the D final with 54.47, both earning NCAA B cuts. Rumrill is now seventh-fastest in school history in the 100 fly.
Justin Wright (46.59),
Chatham Dobbs (46.84),
Mathias Oh (47.29), and
Gabriel Cardenes (48.20) all earned NCAA B cuts in the 100 fly for the men.
Jamie Stone with 1:46.86 and
Emma McCarthy with 1:47.38 in the 200 free B final place first and second, respectively.
Kirsten Jacobsen won the C final with 1:45.19. All three women earned NCAA B cuts in this race.
Jorge Iga finished seventh in the A final,
Noah Reid won the C final, while
Parks Jones came in third in the 200 free for the men. Iga (1:34.88), Reid (1:36.31), and Jones (1:37.29) all earned NCAA B cuts.
Korenwinder (1:00.54),
Alexandra Martelle (1:01.81),
Matthew Salerno (53.35), and
Sam Iida (54.85) all earn NCAA B cuts in the 100 breaststroke. Korenwinder moves into the all-time top-times list in the 100 breast at ninth-place.
Georges and
Cameron McHugh earned NCAA B cuts in the 100 back for the women, with 53.99 and 54.08, respectively.
Thomas Anderson placed fourth in the B final of the men's 100 back with 47.31, while
Matt Lujan (48.35) and
Jack Anderson (48.48) placed fourth and fifth, respectively, in the C final.
The 200 medley relay A teams both finished fourth, and the men's B team finished seventh. The women's A team timed 1:37.86, the men's A team finished with 1:26.31, and the B team with 1:27.24.
