2017 was a year to remember for the Arizona Track and Field program. In June,
Sage Watson won the NCAA National Championship in the 400-meter hurdles and the program earned 10 All-America honors between the indoor and outdoor season.
For Cross Country, the program saw
Claire Green earn All-America Honors in November, after a season in which she never finished outside the top-20.

1. On June 10, Arizona gained another National Champion in
Sage Watson. The Alberta, Canada native won the 400-meter hurdles contest with a time of 54.52, a personal best and No. 8 time in the world. Watson is the first Wildcat to win the event since Robin Marks in 1981, and the first UA woman to win a national title in track sinceBrigetta Barrett won the high jump in 2013. This tweet garnered 55.7 thousand impressions and is the top tweet for the track and field program.

Justice Summerset became the first freshman for Arizona to earn first team All-America honors in the high jump after taking third place at the NCAA Championships. Summerset was the only first team All American for the men.
3. Competition didn't end for Watson in Eugene. The NCAA Champion would go on to represent Canada in the 2017 IAAF World Championships in London. Watsonclocked a time of 54.92 in the 400-meter hurdles final, good for a sixth place finish.
4. Watson clocked the fastest time in the nation en route to her championship performance in Eugene.
5. it is a family affair for the program with the Egbo brothers.

Bailey Roth became a Pac-12 Champion on May 13th in the 3000-meter steeple chase.
7. Roth and summerset both advanced to the NCAA Championship in their respective events. Summerset earned first team All-America honors and Roth would earn second team honors.

Claire Green went out in style for her final cross country season. Green finished in 24th place at the NCAA Championships to earn All-America honors.

Aaron Castle joined Sean Shields as the only Wildcats to earn four All-America honors in the shot put.
10. The white team was crowned the winner of the annual Red White and Blue scrimmage at the 2017 Winter All-Comer's Meet for the second year in a row.
