FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – Arizona track and field competed in the NAU Tune-Up today and were led by senior Aaron Castle.
"It is very satisfying to see Aaron be rewarded for all the hard work he has put in over the years," head coach Fred Harvey said. "He has always shown the ability to be one of our nation's best , so this performance is no surprise for Aaron, but I am so excited for him."
Castle threw a career-best mark of 19.53-meters (64' 1") in the shot put, the fourth-best mark in the NCAA this season.
"It feels great to throw a big personal best," Castle said. "I am so excited to make it to indoor nationals."
Brena Andrews took third-place in the 400-meter race. It was her first time competing in the event .
The Track Cats will be back in action next weekend for the MPSF Conference held in Seattle, Wash. where they will be looking to take home multiple conference championships.
