FEDERAL WAY, Wash. – Arizona women's swimming and diving concluded the Pac-12 Championships in fourth place with a total score of 1,075.5. Stanford claimed the Pac-12 title with 1,587.5 followed by California (1,392) and USC (1,250.5).
Senior
Karolyn Loftus and junior
Tjasa Oder led the day individually with top-three finishes. Arizona also notched another top-five relay finish.
Loftus had the best finish of the Championships for the women, taking second in the platform with 262.70. Senior
Sally Hackett placed fifth with 241.75.
In the 1,650 free, Oder finished third with a time of 15:59.47, lowering her season-best by three seconds. Freshman
Hannah Cox placed eighth in the event (16:17.50) and freshman
Kirsten Jacobsen placed 12th (16:24.60). Sophomore
Emma McCarthy took 14th with 16:27.92.
The relay team of
Annie Ochitwa,
Katrina Konopka,
Taylor Garcia and
Cameron McHugh swam to a fifth-place finish in the 400 free relay with a time of 3:16.17, earning an 'A' cut.
Earlier in the 200 back, McHugh was runner-up in the B final with a time of 1:54.66. Garcia placed fourth in the B final (1:56.04) while junior
Jenna Bauer took sixth (1:57.74).
Konopka swam to a third-place finish in the B final of the 100 free, touching in 47.78 while junior
Morgan Ginnis took eighth with 50.49. In the C final, sophomore
Ashley Sutherland placed third (50.13) followed by junior
Paige Kremer (50.16). Freshman
Taylor Nations finished eighth in the C final with 50.79.
In the B final of the 200 breast, freshman
Mallory Korenwinder placed fifth with 2:13.70 while junior
Alexandra Martelle took seventh with 2:14.34. Freshman
Kennedy Lohman finished third in the C final with 2:14.50.
Sophomore
Mik Ranslem took eighth in the B final of the 200 fly with a time of 2:02.05. In the C final of the event, junior
Samantha Getzen finished third (1:59.41) while sophomore
Daniela Georges placed eighth (2:03.22).
