The University of Arizona women's golf team will begin play at the SDSU March Mayhem on Monday in Rancho Santa Fe, Calif. The tournament is a match play format and will take place at the par 72 Farms Golf Club.
Competing for the Wildcats will be sophomore Haley Moore, freshman Sandra Nordaas, junior Krystal Quihuis, sophomore Gigi Stoll, and senior Wanasa Zhou.
The team will play 72 holes of match play golf with 36 holes on Monday, 18 on Tuesday, and 18 on Wednesday. Arizona will play New Mexico in the first matchup with the winner facing the winner of BYU and Idaho.
The Wildcats are coming off of a very strong tournament at the Mountain View Collegiate where the Cats won by 21 strokes for their first team victory of the season. Senior Wanasa Zhou earned her first collegiate victory and set a new Arizona Golf record for lowest ever tournament score shooting 203 (-13).
Arizona was the runner up in the 2016 SDSU March Mayhem and Manon Gidali was an individual runner up in 2013 when the tournament's format was stroke play.
