INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Arizona men's swimming had success in both relay events on day 2 of the 2017 NCAA Championships.
The team of
Chatham Dobbs,
J.P. Beach,
Chad Idensohn and
Thomas Anderson started off the finals finishing 16th in the 200 free relay with a time of 1:17.93. All four earned All-America Honorable Mention honors.
Arizona's best finish came in the 400 medley relay to close out the day. Dobbs,
Blair Bish, Idensohn and
Nick Thorne took 13th in the event with a season-best time of 3:06.58. Each swimmer earned All-America Honorable Mention honors, giving Dobbs and Idensohn two on the night.
The best individual finish came from sophomore Thorne who placed 29th in the prelims of the 200 IM, touching in 1:44.77. Junior
Chris Wieser then finished 40th in the prelims of the 500 free with 4:20.80.
The Cats sit in 24th after day 2 with a total score of 10. Texas leads (225.5) followed by California (143) and Florida (138.5).
