INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Arizona men's swimming closed out the 2017 NCAA Championships with two school records, a new All-American and two Honorable Mention honors.

Junior
Justin Wright highlighted the final day of the Championships breaking his own school record twice in the 200 fly. Wright first broke his record in the prelims with an eighth-place finish and a time of 1:41.38. The junior later swam in the A final of the event taking seventh with a new school-record time of 1:40.94, breaking the 1:41.00 mark for the first time. His finish also gave him All-America honors for the first time in his career.

The next best finish came from junior
Chris Wieser who took 14th in the 1,650 free with a personal-best 14:44.45 to earn Honorable Mention honors. Wieser still has the fifth-fastest time in Arizona history in the event.

The team of
Jorge Iga,
Chatham Dobbs,
Nick Thorne and
Chad Idensohn took eighth in the B final of the 400 free relay to notch Honorable Mention honors (2:51.48).

The Cats tallied Honorable Mention honors in each relay event it swam in (200 free relay, 400 free relay, 200 medley relay, 400 medley relay). Dobbs and Idensohn competed in each of those events.

Arizona concluded the Championships in 24th with a total score of 36.5. Texas commanded the meet to win the NCAA title with 542. California finished second (349) followed by Florida (294.5). Â
