FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – Arizona diving concluded the NCAA Zone E Championships on Wednesday in Flagstaff. Both the men and women competed in the platform. Seniors
Sally Hackett and
Karolyn Loftus qualified for the NCAA Championships in the event as part of the top 11.
Loftus finished eighth in the final with 478.40 and eighth in the prelims with 251.60. The senior is also now eligible to compete in the 3-meter at the NCAA Championships after finishing in the top 12 on Monday.
Hackett placed 10th in the final (466.65) after moving up from 13th in the prelims (214.90). After qualifying for the 1-meter on Tuesday, Hackett will compete in all three events at the NCAA Championships.
Junior
Kaitlin Costello dove to a 27th-place finish in the prelims with a score of 185.55.
For the men, freshman
Casey Ponton took 15th in the final with 502.50 after finishing 14th in the prelims with 247.70.
The top 11 qualified in the platform for the women and the top seven qualified for the men.
