SALT LAKE CITY, Utah -- No. 14 Utah defeated second-ranked Arizona, 6-3, handing the Wildcats their first loss in the Pac-12 this year.

The Utes scored six runs off
Taylor McQuillin, becoming the first team to score more than four runs against Arizona in 2017.

The Wildcats fell to 41-2, 13-1 Pac-12. Utah improved to 27-8, 9-3 Pac-12.

Arizona had base runners all game against Utah starter Miranda Viramontes (11-1), recording 10 hits in the contest, but managed just three runs coming in the sixth and seventh innings.
Dejah Mulipola went 4-for-4 with a double in the game.

Utah used a leadoff single and double to plate the game's first run in the bottom of the first inning.

The Utes added two more runs in the second to take a 3-0 lead and three more in the fourth to chase McQuillin (13-1). Floyd pitched the final 2.1 innings and allowed just two hits in the process.

Katiyana Mauga and
Mo Mercado drove in runs in the sixth for Arizona.

The Cats added a run in the seventh, but their rally fell short.
