The University of Arizona women's golf team will begin play at the PING ASU Invitational in Tempe, Ariz. on Friday. The tournament will be held at the par 72 ASU Karsten Golf Course.
Competing for the Wildcats will be sophomore Haley Moore, junior Krystal Quihuis, senior Wanasa Zhou, sophomore Gigi Stoll, and senior Jessica Vasilic. Junior Natalia Forero and freshman Sandra Nordaas will be competing as individuals.
The tournament is hosted by Arizona State and boasts a strong field including Baylor, Kansas State, Kentucky, LSU, Missouri, Northern Arizona, New Mexico, Oregon State, San Diego State, SMU, UNLV, and Washington.
Arizona finished in fourth place at last year's invitational with Quihuis earning a ninth place finish. The Wildcats have won this tournament three times, most recently in 2015. The Cats have also had four individual winners including Lorena Ochoa in 2002.
Tournament play will begin at 8 a.m. MST on Friday morning. Tee times are scheduled for 8 a.m. MST on Saturday, and 7:30 a.m. MST on Sunday.
