Four Wildcats Earn All-Pac-12 Honors

TUCSON, Ariz. – Four Wildcats earned postseason honors by the Pac-12 on Tuesday afternoon with goalkeeper Lainey Burdett, forward Jada Talley and midfielder Amanda Porter earning Third Team All-Pac-12 while midfielder/forward Emily Knous made the All-Freshmen team, as voted on by the Pac-12 coaches. Of all the schools in the Pac-12, Arizona had the fourth-most honorees between the three All-Conference teams and the All-Freshmen team.

Burdett, who earned her second-straight All-Pac-12 honor, has recorded eight shutouts this season and allowed just 16 goals in 19 games. Those eight shutouts are tied for the second-most in the Pac-12 and her goals against average of 0.81 ranks third in the Pac-12 (min. 600 minutes played). Burdett's name is all over the Arizona record book as she has recorded the most shutouts in school history with 25 and is fourth all-time in career saves with 263. Burdett also has the second-best career goals against average in Arizona history with a mark of 0.96, which is the lowest goals against average of any Arizona goalkeeper to play four seasons.

Talley improved drastically from her freshman season, scoring seven goals for the Wildcats and dishing out one assist. Last year, Talley scored just one goal and had two assists. This year, the sophomore has scored the 12th-most goals in the Pac-12 and has been a proverbial thorn in the side of defenders, ranking eighth in the Pac-12 with 59 total shots. She scored four game-winning goals this season, which is tied for the fourth-most in a single season in school history and is tied for the third-most in the Pac-12 this year.

Porter is one of five Wildcats this season to start in all 19 games and has not disappointed. The sophomore leads the team and is tied for seventh in the Pac-12 in assists with seven and has also pitched in three goals. All three of her goals have come in Pac-12 play, more specifically, in the last six games of the season. She had a hand in all three goals against Oregon State, scoring one and lending a helping hand to Kennedy Kieneker in her two goals. Porter's seven assists are tied for the fourth-most in a single season by any Wildcat and she needs two more to tie the single-season record set by Mallory Miller.

Knous has played in all 19 games this season for the Wildcats and made 16 starts as a freshman. She is tied for second on the team in goals scored (4) and tied for third assists (3), giving her 11 points on the season, which is the fourth-most on the team. Knous was outstanding against Baylor, who is now ranked No. 11 in the country and is hosting the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Against the Bears on Sept. 9, she had a hand in all three goals by scoring two of them and assisting on the third, helping the Wildcats to a 3-1 victory.

The Wildcats will lace them up again this Friday, Nov. 9 in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament against Denver at 7 p.m. MST at Mulcahy Stadium.
