Tucson, Ariz. – The University of Arizona track and field program is set to make their unofficial start to the 2019 season hosting the annual Winter All-Comers at Roy P. Drachman Stadium on Saturday, Dec. 8.
 
Competition is set to begin at 10 a.m. MST with the hammer throw, pole vault, long jump, and javelin contests. Running events will begin at noon with a 4x100-meter relay. Admission is free to the public.
 
"We are getting ready to have our red, white and blue meet and we are very excited about it," said head track and field coach Fred Harvey. "We had a really fun draft, I think the athletes were really engaged and did a great job with the selection process. Now, in terms of trying to see where everyone is at and their readiness for the indoor season, it is a great opportunity for us to do that."
 
Athletes will be split up into three teams: Red, White, and Blue. Captains from each team drafted first year Cats to their squads on Nov. 28th.

In last year's meet, the white team won the team contest for a second year in a row scoring 171 points, the red team came in second with 162 points, and blue in third with 96 points. Highlighting the day was Jordan Geist, who tossed a mark of 20.63m (67-8.25) to win the shot put event. Geist would go on to have a record setting freshman campaign, setting the NCAA Freshman Indoor Shot Put Record with a toss of 21.45m (70-4.5) in his second outing as a Wildcat.
 
This year's meet will feature Geist, along with returning All-Americans Diana Gajda, Karolina Pahlitzsch, Tatum Waggoner, Pamela White, Maksims Sincukovs, Justice Summerset and Carlos Villarreal.
