BOULDER, Colo. – The Arizona women's tennis team (8-6) fell in a close 4-3 battle against Colorado (8-2) on Friday in Boulder, Colo.

In doubles play, Arizona's Mary Lewis/Marie Van Aelst fell to Colorado's Chloe Hule/Brigitte Beck 6-4 on court one, but Paris Corley/Camila Wesbrooks defeated Linda Huang/Kyra Wojcik 6-4 on court two. Jeannez Daniel/Ilana Oleynik clinched the doubles point for the Buffaloes when they beat Gitte Heynemans/Sophia Thomas 6-2 on court three.
 
Marie Van Aelst won the first point for the Cats when she won over Jeannaz Daniel 6-1, 6-1 on court three. Talya Zandberg fell to Kyra Wojcik on court five, 6-4, 7-5. Sophia Thomas defeated Ilana Oleynik 4-6, 6-1, 6-2 on court six to tie the match with Colorado. Gitte Heynemans won over Brigitte Beck on court four 6-3, 4-6, 6-2. Buffalo Linda Huang defeated Mary Lewis 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 on court one. Chloe Hule secured the win for Colorado when she won over Camila Wesbrooks, 6-3, 5-7, 6-3 on court two.
 
"The team battled hard today," said head coach Vicky Maes. "We lost an unfortunate doubles point, but we made a strong comeback in singles and I was very happy with the effort. The conditions were tough with heavy winds, but the girls battled hard. In the end, the match could have gone either way. A few points here and there made the difference. We need to stay positive, keep our heads together, and get ready to battle Utah on Sunday."

Arizona will face Utah on Sunday Mar. 11 at 10 a.m. MST in Salt Lake City.
