TUCSON, Ariz. -- Coming off back to back neutral site wins against Fresno State, the Wildcats head home to face off against UC Santa Barbara.
The Gauchos are 6-4 on the season after defeating Saint Mary's 6-1 on Saturday. The Wildcats (11-5) have won five of their last six as they prepare for their final tune-up match before Pac-12 play begins.
Arizona's success has come largely thanks to strong play from freshmen.
Filip Malbasic leads the team with 13 singles wins, and
Aaro Pollanen has won 3 singles matches in a row.
Igor Karpovets and
Carlos Hassey have found recent success in doubles play as well. Head coach
Clancy Shields is aware of the importance of the coming week.
"We have a big test coming up in the next week with three great teams," he said. "We are looking forward to playing UCSB on Tuesday."
The match begins at 1:00 p.m. MST on Tuesday.
