TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona's women's tennis team (9-11, 0-5 in Pac-12) fell 4-1 to No. 50 Washington (13-8, 3-3 in Pac-12) on Friday afternoon.

In doubles play, Washington's No. 24 Miki Kobayashi/Vanessa Wong won over Arizona's Mary Lewis/Paris Corley 6-2 on court one. On court two, Devin Chypyha/Camila defeated Kenadi Hance/Alexis Prokopuik 6-2. Stacey Fung/Katarina Kopcalic secured the doubles point for the Huskies when they beat Marie Van Aelst/Gitte Heynemans 6-3 on court three.
 
The Huskies' success continued into singles when No. 21 Stacey Fung won over Devin Chypyha 6-1, 6-0 on court one. Camila Wesbrooks won Arizona's only point of the match when she defeated Alexis Prokopuik 6-4, 6-2 on court four. Paris Corley lost to Miki Kobayashi 6-2, 6-3 on court three, and Katarina Kopcalic clinched the match for Washington when she won 6-4, 6-3 over Gitte Heynemans on court six.

"In set three of the doubles, we had some momentum and we were hanging in there during singles," said head coach Vicky Maes. "If we start winning more first sets, then we will have a chance against teams like this. We're going to keep our team spirit high and keep staying positive throughout the season."

The Wildcats will face No. 34 Washington State Saturday, Apr. 7 at noon MST at the LaNelle Robson Tennis Center.
