TUCSON, Ariz. – The Arizona's women's tennis team will kick off the 2018 Fall season this week in Fort Worth, Texas from Sept. 20-23 at the Big 5 Challenge, which will take place at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center.
"We are excited for the season to be underway," said head coach
Ryan Stotland. "We all get to compete for the first time and against some of the best competitors in the country. We are going to enjoy the process of getting better every day and learning to apply what we have learned to match play. It should be a great week for us to get better."
The Wildcats welcome back six returners from the 2017-18 season and brought in two newcomers (
Emma Wilson and
Csenge Furak. Stotland is entering his first season at the helm of Arizona women's tennis after coming to Tucson from Fresno State, where he was the 2014 Mountain West Coach of the Year. Stotland is returning to Tucson after serving as an assistant coach from 2008 to 2012.
