TUCSON-- The Arizona Wildcats are heading to Northern California to close out their fall season. After a strong performance of three top three finishes in as many tournaments, the Wildcats aim to finish the season in style. They will be competing in the St. Mary's Invitational, which will be taking place at the Poppy Hills Golf Club in Pebble Beach.
The lineup for the Wildcats consists of seniors Brad Reeves, David Laskin and Briggs Duce, and juniors Trevor Werbylo and Drake Mendenhall. Freshman Chase Sienkiewicz will be competing as an individual.
"We are looking forward to finishing our fall segment at an outstanding event where our team is very familiar," said head coach Jim Anderson. "Everyone traveling to Poppy Hills has competed there multiple times and we believe we know what to expect from the golf course. The team has been confident in our preparations at home and we have seen great play from each of the members traveling. Now, we need to keep our focus on the things we control and remain patient while competing."
In the Wildcats' previous tournament, the Oregon State Invitational, Duce, Laskin and Werbylo finished in the top 10. Mendenhall scored an eagle and 12 birdies during the tournament. Reeves, a starter in every tournament this season, finished the tournament with three birdies.
Sienkiewicz is competing in his second tournament as a Wildcat, after sinking an eagle and eight birdies at the Tucker Intercollegiate in Albuquerque.
The rest of the field consists of Saint Mary's, San Diego State, Santa Clara, Fresno State, Pacific, Colorado State, Oregon State, Coastal Carolina, San Francisco, New Mexico, UNC-Wilmington, Utah, Toledo and Oregon.
