Tucson, Ariz. –– Three Cats will compete in the NCAA Indoor National Championships in Birmingham, Ala. next week.

Carlos Villarreal closed out the season with NCAA top-16 marks to qualify for the contest.

Jordan Geist is slated to compete in the shot put for the second year in a row. The Knoch, Penn. native punched his ticket to the national contest with a season-best mark of 21.15m (69-4.75) set at the Texas Tech Shootout. He is currently ranked No. 2 on the NCAA list and is sixth in the world rankings. Most recently, Geist took the MPSF shot put title and finished second in the weight throw.

Lillian Lowe advances to her first NCAA Indoor Championships to compete in the high jump. The junior cleared a personal-best 1.82m (5-11.5) to set the No. 10 NCAA mark at the Texas Tech Shootout to punch her ticket. Most recently, Lowe took first in high jump at the MPSF Championships.

Carlos Villarreal clocked his third sub-4 mile at the UW Last Chance Meet and will compete in his second NCAA Championships. He earned All-America honors last year in the mile run. He will head to Birmingham ranked third in the NCAA. Most recently, Villarreal took fifth in the 5K at the MPSF Championships.

Action is set to begin on Friday, March 8th in Birmingham, Ala.
