ARIZONA Diving: Zone E Diving Championships

This Week
Three Arizona divers will be competing for a spot to compete at NCAA Championships in Austin at the end of the month. A total of 94 divers will be competing at zones from the Pac-12, Mountain West, Mountain Pacific Sports Federation, and WAC conferences.
The divers that will be competing include
Delaney Schnell,
Casey Ponton, and
Eric Correa. All three DiveCats qualified for all three dive events (1m, 3m, platform) by scoring 300 points or higher in at least one competition throughout the season.
Schnell set the school record in the platform with 339 at the Lumberjack Diving Invitational. At Pac-12 Championships, the sophomore earned a silver medal in the 1m (326) and bronze in the 3m (335.10).
Ponton won the 3m event at the Lumberjack Diving Invitational, scoring 344.25 points. The junior qualified for zones in the 1m in the last regular season meet against ASU, scoring 333.98 and finishing third. At Pac-12 Championships, Ponton earned a spot in finals and finished seventh overall in the platform.
Correa placed fifth at Pac-12 Championships in the 1m with 301.50. In prelims of the platform at Pacs, the freshman finished second and earned 305.60 points. In all regular-season attempts on the 1m dive, Correa earned over 300 points, including three wins (GCU, Stanford, Cal).
