SANTA CRUZ, Calif.- The Arizona men's golf program concluded play at the 73
rd installment of the Western Intercollegiate Wednesday afternoon in eighth place. The team went 27-over par for the three-day tournament. Sophomore
Tianlang Guan was the highest placing Wildcat after coming back from a rough first round to finish tied in 33
rd at five-over par.

"We had a very tough start to our round, which set behind most of the day," said head coach
Jim Anderson. "We hung in there and got a few back but most of the damage was done. Now, we can reflect on this week for experience as we are on deck to play for a Pac-12 Championship next week. We need to learn quickly and remove any doubt so we can have our best next week. Eugene Country Club will present similar challenges so hopefully we can take that with us from this week."

Guan came back from a first round struggle and was even par or better each of the last two days of the tournament. He finished with a final score of 215 (+5). The sophomore from China bested his previous career low 18-hole score, shooting a 66 on Tuesday. He followed that up Wednesday with an even-par 70. Guan tallied 14 birdies, the fourth most in the tournament.

David Laskin finished in a tied for 42
nd, scoring 216 (+6). Junior
Briggs Duce and sophomore
Trevor Werbylo finished two shots behind Laskin, with an eight-over score of 218 for a tie in 47
th.

Rounding out the scores for the Cats were
Brad Reeves, with a 219 (+9), finishing in 53
rd, and a 223 (+13) for
Ethan Marcus to place in a tie for 63
rd.

Arizona will close out the regular season at the Pac-12 Championships, which will be held at the Eugene Country Club in Eugene, Ore. The three-day tournament will be played from April 22
