Served Up with Kirsten Prelle

Kirsten Prelle joined Arizona as a sophomore after completing her first year at University of Texas El Paso. Prior to college she obtained 11 Provincial Championship titles in her 12-year tennis career, was the 2016 Canadian Junior National Doubles Champion and a finalist at the 2016 under-18 International Tennis Federation Vancouver tournament and was a two-time doubles finalist in the under-18 ITF Saville and the 2014 Villers Sur Mer Champion in France.

ArizonaWildcats.com sat down with Prelle to discuss her move to Arizona.

Q: What is your favorite thing about Arizona thus far?
A: "My favorite thing about Arizona so far would have to be the people. Everyone has been so helpful and welcoming that it has made my transition here very easy. If I ever need help with anything there is always a resource available to help. I also love the weather and being able to play outside all year long is definitely a pro."

Q:  Why do you love college tennis?
A: "I love college tennis because you get to be part of a team. Growing up in junior tennis is such an individual sport where you really only play for yourself but when you get to college, every time you go out to play a match, you are fighting for yourself, your teammates, and your school."

Q: Who is your biggest inspiration?
A: "I think my biggest inspiration would be Petra Kvitova because she has had to deal with a lot of adversity throughout her career with injuries, but she has been able to really push herself to keep fighting. I admire her not only as a payer but as a person as well and her mental toughness is something I have so much respect for."

Q: What do you like to do in your free time?
A: "School and training take up a lot of my time but when I have some free time I enjoy hiking, traveling, and photography."
