Arizona Athletics Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Night

TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona Athletics' annual Hispanic Heritage Night celebration is set for Arizona Football's home game versus UCLA on Saturday, Sept. 28 at 7:30 p.m. inside Arizona Stadium. This tradition of celebrating the rich and vibrant Hispanic culture of Southern Arizona will include special activities throughout the day on the campus of the University of Arizona.

"Our community has a tremendous heritage of cultural diversity, and Hispanic Heritage Night is a fantastic opportunity to highlight that important identity on campus and in Tucson," said Vice President and Director of Athletics Dave Heeke. "This annual event is an outstanding collaboration between Arizona Athletics and many important campus partners to put the University of Arizona on display. With a full day of festivities before and during the football game, we are excited to welcome all Wildcats to be a part of this dynamic cultural and community experience."

Arizona Athletic is partnering with the Tucson Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Visit Tucson, UA Hispanic Alumni Club, Adalberto and Ana Guerrero Student Center, UA Alumni Association, UA Office of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management and the UA Office of Multicultural Advancement Division of Equity, Inclusion and Title IX among others.

The day's festivities begin with the Latinx and Hispanic College Day student symposium at 11:15 a.m. (MST) inside the Student Union Building. The Coca-Cola Fan Fiesta opens inside the Cole and Jeannie Davis Sports Center at 4:30 p.m. (MST) and will include live entertainment from Hispanic musical acts and dancers. The UA Hispanic Alumni Tailgate opens at 5 p.m. on the southwest corner of Cherry and University will also host special Hispanic Heritage Night pregame music and entertainment and is open to the public with a $15 El Charro buffet.

Mariachi bands will welcome fans as they enter the gates of Arizona Stadium with special in-game performances planned to cap off Hispanic Heritage Night.
