Tucson, Ariz. -Â Saturday marked the unofficial start of the 2019-20 Arizona Swimming and Diving season as the Wildcats competed in their annual Red-Blue meet. The Blue team proved victorious over the Red team by a score of 269-253, in a wild ending.
At the first break, Blue took an early lead with 120 points to Red's 115.Â
Today's intrasquad meet serves as a warmup for the regular season, which opens up next Friday, Oct. 4 in Salt Lake City against Utah. The Wildcats first home meet will come three weeks following Utah against Hawai'i and Denver.Â
Senior
Mallory Korenwinder won three events and one relay while Junior
Brooks Fail won three individual events as well. Senior
Kirsten Jacobsen won two individual events of her own and one relay. FreshmanÂ
Bjorn Markentin showed out in his first collegiate action, winning in Men's Diving while
Delaney Schnell won for the Women's for a second year in a row.Â
