NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. - Arizona women's tennis team fell 7-0 to No. 18 Texas A&M on Saturday evening in Newport Beach.
Talya Zandberg battled it out at the No. 1 spot in the lineup, but dropped a close match to Katya Townsend (TAMU) 6-7, 6-7.
Khim Iglupas also had a long match falling 5-10 in the ten-point tiebreaker for the third.
In doubles action, Zandberg and
Abby Amos won their match on court three 6-2.
"We clearly had our chances and I know the score doesn't reflect it but we had our chances and competed hard," head coach
Ryan Stotland said, "They were just more mentally tough and we will continue to work on it as we know we belong in this group and will continue to prove ourselves."
