TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona Track and Field is headed to Seattle, Wash. for the MPSF Championships on Friday. The two-day conference championships will be held at the University of Washington's Dempsey Indoor Arena. 

Competition is set to begin on Friday at 1:00 p.m. MST beginning with the women's weight throw. On Saturday, the women's high jump crew will open up competition at 11:00 a.m. MST. 

"I always get really excited for championship week because everybody is in a heightened state," said head Track and Field coach Fred Harvey. "It's one of the best conferences in the country. Having the Pac-12 and then adding BYU brings a whole new flavor when it comes to distance and sprints. We want to come here as a team and be able to support each other and compete at the highest level while also making sure that we understand that this is our last opportunity to qualify for national championships. That is our number one goal."

The Wildcats will be competing against Arizona State, BYU, California, Cal State Fullerton, Cal State Northridge, Colorado, Hawai'i, Long Beach State, Oregon, Oregon State, Portland, San Francisco, Stanford, UC Davis, UC Irvine, UCLA, UC Riverside, Utah, USC, Washington and Washington State

At last year's MPSF Championships, the women's side placed fifth overall with 51 points and the men finished sixth with 56 points. 

Arizona last competed at NAU Tune Up where Israel Oloyede broke the Arizona all-time weight throw record with a mark of 22.34m (73-3.5).
