DAVIS, Calif. -- No 17. Arizona improves to 10-2 on the season after picking up a pair of wins in the UC Davis Tri-Match. The Cats started the tournament out with a 5-0 sweep over Stephen F. Austin for the second time this season. Later in the day they closed the tournament with a 5-0 sweep over UC Davis.

Pairs Olivia Hallaran/Brooke Burling (7-5) and Alex Parkhurst/Sarah Blacker (10-1) excelled this weekend both earning points for Arizona in only two sets for both matches. Hallaran/Burling did not allow their opponents over 15 points and Parkhurst/Blacker did not allow them over 18 points for the duration of the tournament.

Freshman Summer McDonough saw her first action of the season with partner Alana Rennie. The pair helped aid Arizona in their sweep over SFA with a quick two set match on court 5. 

The Wildcats are back at Bear Down Beach next weekend, March 20-21 for the Wildcat Spring Challenge, where they will host Pacific, Utah, Arizona Christian, and CSUN.

"Coming out of last weekend, with the limited number of practices we could get in before today's competition, we really did a nice job of narrowing our focus and improving in a couple facets of our overall game. 

And the team did as well as you could hope for in transferring those good practice repetitions into today's play. 

It was a total team effort today, with a good number of outstanding performances."
