Q: What made you choose Arizona?
A: I chose to come to the University of Arizona because of the incredible campus, it allowed me to stay close to my family, and the fit felt right.
Q: What are you looking forward to the most in your first year at Arizona?
A: I'm looking forward to playing baseball as a Wildcat and starting progress toward my degree in civil engineering. Starting on a new path is exciting.
Q: What achievement from your baseball career so far are you most proud of?
A: I think my greatest achievement earning a chance to play at the University of Arizona and committing. It's been my biggest dream for as long as I can remember.Â
Q: What do you think is the strongest part of your game?
A: The strongest part of my game is my hitting ability. I think I'm the best hitter in the country; I don't think anybody else sees the ball as well as I do or has the swing I have.Â
Q: Who influenced you to get into baseball?
A: My dad did, his name is Perry Berry. He played at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette for the Ragin' Cajuns and then with the Houston Astros for a few years.
Q: If you weren't playing baseball, what sport would you most want to play?
A: I played football, basketball, and baseball in high school at one point or another. I played football until I was a junior and basketball through my sophomore year. Of those two, I would have to say probably football — I liked hitting guys.Â
Q: If you could have one MLB player's skill, what would it be?
A: I would probably want Derek Jeter's mental approach to the game. He's a guy who played the game for a long time and his numbers speak for themselves; in the regular season and postseason his numbers were always phenomenal. He never seemed to let the big game, the big moments get the best of him, he always played his game regardless.
Q: If you could face one Major League Baseball player right now, who would it be and why?
A: I think I would want to face Gerrit Cole. He's the best pitcher in baseball and I want to beat the best.
Q: What are some of your non-baseball hobbies you enjoy spending free time on?
A: I love hunting and fishing, I grew up doing it. Since the quarantine, I've made six trips up to Lake Powell. I really love fishing, that's what I do with most of my time. I also enjoy working out.
Q: What does your pregame/gameday routine look like?
A: My pregame routine consists of me getting loose in the cages, fitting in a light workout, and making sure I have a good meal before the game.
