Combined with the Wildcats two selections on day one Arizona boasted nine MLB Draft selections this year, the program's most since 2008 and tied for the third most in the nation. Only 2008 (11 picks), 1993 (11 picks), 1986 (11 picks), and 1998 (10 picks) drafts featured more Wildcats.
Across four seasons in charge of his alma mater's program, head coach
Chip Hale has now produced 20 MLB Draft picks.
