TUCSON, Ariz. -- Arizona Swimming and Diving capped off a successful Day 1 of the 2021 Pac-12 Championships with Diver
Delaney Schnell stealing the spotlight as she was crowned champion of the 1-Meter dive.
Diving Championships
Schnell won the event by a landslide as she put up a score of 343.45, nearly 30 more points than the runner-up who scored 313.90.
Gracie Sleeman finished 3rd in the consolation final and 11th overall as she scored a 259.50.
Swimming Championships
The Wildcat women saw a podium finish of their own Wednesday night, as the 800 free relay team (
Amalie Mortensen,
Molly Batchelor,
Julia Heimstead,
Casslyn Treydte) placed 3rd with a time of 7:05.32.
Score Tally
After Day 1, the Cats sit atop the standings with a score total of 179 with Cal close behind with 168 points.
Arizona will be back in action again tomorrow starting with Swimming prelims at 9 a.m. MST followed up by Diving at 10 a.m. MST.
