TEMPE, Ariz -- The No. 12 Arizona Wildcats (15-3) went 2-0 in day one of the Pac-12 North Invitational in Tempe. The Cats swept both No. 7 Stanford and Washington to finish day one. 

The final 3-2 victory over No. 7 Stanford tipped the program history scales in favor of Arizona. They are now 5-4 against the Cardinal after today's match. Courts four, one, and two clinched Arizona points back-to-back to secure the victory for the Cats with all three finishing in two sets. Mady Noble and Dana Parker were particularly fast as they got the win in a quick 21-13, 21-14 with Brooke Burling and Sarah Blacker coming up quick behind them with two sets of 21-19, 21-15. 

Against Washington the Cats were able to secure their second win of the day. Arizona's Mady Noble and Dana Parker and Washington's Loreen and McPherson finished fast setting the duel at 1-1 early on. Noble and Parker earned the first Arizona point going 21-14, 21-7 with Washington coming up behind them. Natalie Anselmo and Carly Lowry earned Arizona's second point and Sarah Blacker and Brooke Burling decided the duel in favor of Arizona, going 21-16, 21-14.

The Cats will take on Cal and UCLA tomorrow, April 11 in day two of the Pac-12 North Invitational. The matchup between Cal will begin 10:15 am MST and UCLA will begin at 2:00 pm MST.
