TUCSON, Ariz. -- The Arizona Wildcats (11-3)Â went 1-1Â in day one of the Arizona Invitational against UC Davis and GCU.
Against the Aggies, the Cats pulled a 4-1 victory for the second time this season. Three pairs were able to secure a win for Arizona in just two sets with
Brooke Burling and
Sarah Blacker picking up the fastest win in 21-13 and 21-16 on court two. Pairs
Natalie Anselmo &
Carly Lowry and
Olivia Hallaran &
Jonny Baham came up quick behind them winning the duel for Arizona.
Mady Noble &
Dana Parker gave Arizona their fourth point in the final duel of the match, going three sets.Â
The Cats fell to the GCU Lopes 5-0. Arizona did not give up without a fight as three courts were able to force the Lopes to a third set. All three of those courts fell in close matches not falling by more than four points.Â

The Cats will be back on the beach tomorrow for the second day of the Arizona Invitational. They will take on Missouri State at 10 a.m. MST and Pepperdine at 1 p.m. MST.
