ARLINGTON, Texas — The No. 15 Arizona Wildcats (3-0) polished off their sweep of the State Farm College Baseball Showdown with a 13-2 drubbing of No. 14 Texas Tech (1-2) on Sunday afternoon.
Arizona scored 35 runs over three games and finished the weekend as the only team to navigate the tournament with a perfect 3-0 record.
Right-hander
Dawson Netz got the start for the Wildcats and posted his best outing in an Arizona uniform. Netz went 5.0 innings and struck out six, both of which mark career-highs. He held the Red Raiders scoreless and only surrendered three hits.
The two teams were in a scoreless deadlock through four innings before Arizona broke through with a five-run top of the fifth. They never relinquished the lead and put the game out of reach with eight runs over the final three frames.
