Wildcats Top Aggies by Double Digits

LAS CRUCES, N.M. — Four home runs propelled the Arizona Wildcats (29-13) to a 15-5 road win over the New Mexico State Aggies (16-22) on Tuesday night in Las Cruces.

Catcher Daniel Susac, second baseman Garen Caulfield, shortstop Nik McClaughry, and right fielder Tanner O'Tremba all went yard in the Wildcats victory, with O'Tremba's being a grand slam as part of a seven-run ninth inning.

Caulfield set career-high marks with four hits and four RBI, including his first career collegiate home run.

Starting pitcher Anthony Susac worked five innings for Arizona and allowed three runs on five hits. He earned the win to improve to 3-1 on the year.

Arizona's bullpen kept the NMSU offense at bay while the Wildcats pulled away, combining to allow just one earned run on three hits over the final four frames.

Former Aggie and Tucson native Chris Barraza tossed 1.1 innings of hitless ball, striking out four against his former team.
