TUCSON, Ariz. -- The Arizona Wildcats ended their Pac-12 Championship run in day two of the tournament. The Wildcats began the day taking on No. 1 USC in the winner's bracket where they saw a 3-0 loss. After being knocked down to the contender's bracket, the Cats were set to play in-state rival ASU, who they had a split record against this season. In the end, the Sun Devils came out with a 3-1 victory to finish Arizona's time in the Championship.Â
Arizona's first match of the morning was a quick 3-0 loss to No. 1 USC. Even with the sweep, the Cats were able to get multiple impressive plays and hard earned points against the Trojans.

Alex Parkhurst were able to keep things close on court one, only falling by two in the first. Ultimately, the match ended when the pair was only down three, finishing 17-14.
Hope Shannon/
Annie Kost had a similarly close run but were unable to complete the match. They went 14-21 in the first but were coming back with a tied 20-20 when the match ended.Â
Against the Sun Devils, the Cats fought hard to keep themselves on the bracket and in the Championship.

Abby Russell finished first on court four. After falling 21-13 in the first the pair was able to rally back to a close 22-20 loss in the second.

Maja Kaiser were the second pair to finish and gave Arizona their first, and only, point of the duel.Â

After puilling out a 21-19 win in the first set, the court one pair Rennie/Parkhurst were close to splitting the duel but fell 21-19 in the second. The third set was a tight point-for-point match where the Cats ended with a 15-12 loss to the Devils.Â

Jasmine Safar on court three and Shannon/Kost on court five. Ultimately, Arizona State was able to clinch their third point against Gedikoglu/Safar finishing 21-23, 21-19, 15-9.Â
