EUGENE, Ore. – On the final day of the 2022 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, Arizona senior
Shannon Meisberger made it back-to-back first team All-American honors in the 400m hurdles.
Â
On a rainy day in Oregon, Meisberger entered the finals of the event having run the fourth-fastest time in the semifinals on Thursday. She got off to a good start in the finals but was unable to sustain it with the leaders and her time of 56.825 put her in eighth place, just 0.004 behind seventh place.
Â
After finishing as the national runner-up in this event last year, Meisberger becomes the first UA women's athlete to earn back-to-back First Team All-American honors in the same event since
Sage Watson in the 400m hurdles in 2016 (3
rd) and 2017 (1
st).
