TUCSON, Ariz. - Arizona Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving is set to host California on Friday, Jan. 20, at 2:00 p.m. MST and Stanford the following day at 11:00 a.m. MST. Saturday's meet will mark the last home match of the season, and include the Cat's Senior Day ceremony, which will take place at 10:30 a.m.
Last time Cal and Arizona faced off in the pool, Wildcat Jacob Hand took Arizona's only first place during the meet, posting a time of 2:01.37 in the Men's 200 Breast. The Bears bested the Cats with final scores of 173-80 on the men's side and 153-92 on the women's side.
Arizona's matchup against Stanford last year produced similar results, with former Wildcat Brooks Fail bringing in their two first place spots. Fail bested his opponents in the Men's 1000 Free and 500 Free, posting times of 9:13.30 and 4:25.09 and finishing over four seconds before second place in both events. Arizona was defeated 170-101 on the men's side and 176-86 on the women's side.
After this weekend, Arizona will head to Tempe for their last meet before Pac-12 competitions to face off against rival school, Arizona State University.
