TUCSON, Ariz. — A leadoff double in the bottom of the 10th from
Tyler Casagrande and a walk off single from
Emilio Corona lifted the Arizona Wildcats (14-9) to a 10-9 victory over the Grand Canyon Antelopes (15-9) on Tuesday night.
Arizona came out on top in a wild midweek contest that featured three lead changes and two ties to go along with four home runs swatted by Wildcat batters.
Chase Davis hit a pair, and now has four home runs and seven RBI in two games against Grand Canyon this year. Corona and shortstop
Nik McClaughry also hit home runs in the game, their first and second of the year, respectively.
Overall the Wildcats offense collected double digit runs for the eighth time this year on the back of a dozen base knocks, five walks, and two hit batters.
Starting pitcher Anthony Susac did not factor into the decision, working 3.2 innings and allowing two runs while striking out three on 59 pitches.
Right-handed reliever
Trevor Long (2-1) worked the final three innings of the game and held the Antelopes off the scoreboard to earn his second win of the year.
