LOS ANGELES, Calif. – On Saturday in Los Angeles, the 17th-ranked Arizona beach volleyball team went 1-1 at the Pac-12 South Invitational hosted by USC and UCLA.
 
The Wildcats opened the day with a narrow 3-2 loss to No. 16 Washington before rebounding in the afternoon to take down Oregon by a 3-2 margin.
 
In the morning match against the Huskies, Kylee Fitzsimmons and Caroline White earned the first point for Arizona on court four with a 16-14 win in the third set.
 
The second point for Arizona came from Grace Cook and Alana Rennie, 21-17, 22-20, in another very close match.
 
But in the end, Washington was able to pull out victories on Court 1, Court 2 and Court 5 to get the dual win.
 
In the afternoon session, Arizona dropped the point on court 1 and court 2, but rallied to win the final three courts and get the win.
 
The duo of Rennie and Cook earned their second consecutive win on the day on court 3, as did Fitzsimmons and White on court 4.
 
Court 5 saw Arizona's Gedikoglu and Uhl pick up their first win of the season together, 21-14, 21-10.
 
The Wildcats will be back in action on Sunday when they take on California at 1:00 p.m. MT in a match that will be televised LIVE on the Pac-12 Network.
