Wildcats Rout Sun Devils, 20-0

TUCSON, Ariz. — The Arizona Wildcats (19-15) posted a 20-0 shutout victory over the Arizona State Sun Devils (25-11) on Wednesday night at Hi Corbett Field, marking the Wildcats largest shutout victory over their in-state rival in program history.

Starting pitcher Cam Walty (2-0) was dominant, holding the Sun Devils scoreless on just five hits while striking out seven across seven innings. He earned the win, and now has 11 scoreless innings in two home starts this year.

The Wildcats offense put on a show, smacking 19 hits (including five doubles and five home runs) while also drawing five walks and four hit batters. Center fielder Mac Bingham led the way, going a perfect 5-for-5 at the plate with four runs scored, one double, one home run, and three RBI.

Third baseman Tony Bullard swatted a pair of home runs and was joined by Bingham, left fielder Chase Davis, and first baseman Kiko Romero in leaving the yard. That group combined to drive in 16 of Arizona's 20 runs.

Right-handers Derek Drees and George Arias Jr. finished the final two innings out of the Wildcats bullpen and did not allow a single ASU baserunner, securing the shutout.
