STANFORD, Calif. — The Arizona Wildcats (26-22, 9-17) fell behind early and could not close the gap in a 9-2 loss to the No. 4 Stanford Cardinal (34-13, 20-6) on Saturday afternoon at Sunken Diamond.
Catcher
Cameron LaLiberte and second baseman/shortstop
Mason White both hit solo home runs in the fifth and eighth innings, respectively, to account for the Wildcats two runs.
Starting pitcher
Bradon Zastrow contibuted five solid innings to the Arizona effort, limiting the high-powered Stanford offense to four runs while striking out one. The left-hander took the loss and moved to 4-5 on the year.
Right-hander
George Arias Jr. worked the final 1.1 innings out of the Wildcats bullpen and held the Cardinal scoreless on one hit.
