ORLANDO, Fla. - #40 Jonas Ziverts fell in three tough sets to University of Florida's #32 Axel Nefve in the round of 32, completing the Wildcat's third run at the NCAA Singles Championships and his Arizona career. 

It was a lengthy match that moved indoors after an hour and half rain delay. The games went back and forth in the first set, eventually leading to a tiebreaker which the Gator won 7-6(4) to give him the early advantage. In the second set, Ziverts dominated on the returns and managed to survive for a third set after winning 6-2. The Wildcat won his final game off an ace but was unable to break Nefve who ultimately won the final set 6-3. 

The fifth-year captain, hailing from Solna, Sweden, ends his Arizona career tied for 5th in all-time singles wins with 71 total. He finished 22-10 overall and 16-7 in dual singles. Ziverts compiled an overall doubles record of 16-11 and 12-8 in dual play. He is the third-leading doubles player in program history with 55 total wins. The forever Wildcat made even more program history as the first Arizona men's tennis player to be named Pac-12 Scholar Athlete of the Year, leading the team to back-to-back regular season championships and their second appearance ever at the NCAA Sweet 16. Individually, Ziverts was named to the All-Pac-12 First Team, awarded Pac-12 Player of the Week two times this spring and made the CSC Academic All-District Team. He will continue his tennis career in the professional circuit, competing in three California tournaments this summer.
