TUCSON, Ariz - In a program-defining showdown for control of the top of the Big 12 standings, the 15th ranked Arizona men's tennis made history on Sunday, defeating No. 2 TCU 4-0 (13-5, 2-1) in a dominant performance that will be remembered for years to come. The Wildcats, now 16-3 on the season, claimed their first-ever victory over the Horned Frogs in what was nothing short of a masterclass on their home courts.
Arizona wasted no time asserting themselves, securing the doubles point in a hard-fought battle across all three courts. The Horned Frogs struck first with the duo of Cooper Woestendick and Albert Pedrico downing
Jay Friend and
Alexander Rozin 6-2. The tandem of
Alejandro Arcila and
Cole Stelse got the job done at No. 3 defeating Filip Apltauer and Maximus Dussault 6-3 to even the point before the nation's 16th ranked team of
Filip Gustafsson and
Glib Sekachov slammed the door shut at No. 1, edging Oliver Bonding and Duncan Chan in a tense tiebreak, 7-6 (7-2).
With the doubles point in hand, Arizona's singles lineup was on a mission. The Wildcats collected 5 of 6 first sets to begin three consecutive victories to seal the historic sweep.
Glib Sekachov opened the scoring at No. 5, dismantling Maximus Dussault in straight sets, 6-3, 6-2. #74
Filip Gustafsson followed at No. 3 with a commanding 6-1, 7-6 (7-3) victory over Oliver Bonding. The clinching point came from #122
Zoran Ludoski at No. 4, who showed tremendous resilience — dropping the first set 5-7 before roaring back to win 6-1, 6-2 over Albert Pedrico.
With the match decided, three contests were left unfinished. #3
Jay Friend at line 1 singles and

Alejandro Arcila had taken the first set at No. 6 over Roger Pascual before play was halted.
An Unforgettable Weekend
The victory is Arizona's second top-10 win of the weekend and further cements the program's rise as a national force. The win over #2 TCU is the program's highest ranked win in program history, topping the win over #3 Texas on February 16, 2024.
Zoran Ludoski clinched his team leading 20th singles victory of the 2025-2026 season, while
