SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - The Arizona women's tennis team opened its fall schedule on Thursday, competing in the Battle in the Bay in San Francisco.

Midori Castillo-Meza tabbed a singles win on the day, defeating Yelizaveta Karlova (VCU) 6-2, 7-6(6), 6-2 to advance to the round of 16. She will face Georgia's No. 6 Dasha Vidmanova Friday at 12:00 p.m. MST.

Castillo-Meza and Kayla Wilkins fell in doubles action, 8-2, and Isabel Pascual of TCU defeated Wilkins 6-4, 6-2 in singles competition.
