TUCSON, Ariz - Lauryn Swann was named Big 12 Freshman of the Week the league office announced Monday afternoon.

The honor comes on the heels of a career high performance form the Queens, New York native. Swann led Arizona with 19 points in a 75-66 victory over UNLV, handing the preseason Mountain West favorite its first loss of the season.

The freshman was 8-of-9 from the field and scored all of her points in the second half. She followed the career-high performance with 12 points off the bench against Chicago State in an 84-48 Wildcat win.

Swann shot 64.7% from the field during the week and 66.7% from three. She is the first Arizona women's basketball player to earn a weekly conference honor.

The Wildcats are next in action against Northern Arizona Wednesday, November 20 at 6 p.m. in Flagstaff, Arizona.
